GV Speciality Hospital was founded in 2018 by Dr. R. Gurumoorthi, MD, FIPP, and Dr. N. Vanathi, MD (OG), as the first hospital in Tamil Nadu exclusively dedicated to interventional pain management and palliative care. Initially focused on these two specialties, the hospital has expanded to offer additional services, including general medicine, surgery, plastic surgery, urology and andrology, orthopedics, cardiology, and physical medicine & rehabilitation.

The hospital has become a key referral center for patients from Trichy and surrounding districts suffering from various pain conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia, chronic pancreatitis, neck and back pain, arthritis, and cancer pain. It is the only center in the region providing minimally invasive interventional pain procedures.

In 2019, the hospital expanded its services to include minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries, particularly in gynecology, fertility treatments, and family planning services, all approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Since 2019, GV Speciality Hospital has also offered hands-on training in pain management exclusively for doctors. This initiative has trained numerous healthcare professionals from across South India, empowering them to effectively treat patients with pain disorders.

Looking to the future, the hospital plans to introduce home-based palliative care, supported by a dedicated ambulance service. As part of its commitment to compassionate care, GV Speciality Hospital also offers free consultations for patients suffering from cancer pain, providing vital support to those battling this challenging disease on humanitarian grounds.
